    We're in the eye of the storm - a new era where young people have the world at their fingertips, and parents who struggle to understand their digital native's perspective of the world. In the middle of all of that noise and tension are teens on the brink of possibility who can feel overwhelmed with how to take a first step.

     

    Camp Wayfarer is for young people who want to find their true north in a world of infinite possibility. We invite every restless, passionate, renegade, color-outside-the-lines teen to join us on a collaborative journey to self-discovery & potential.

    Ashley Lamb-Sinclair

    Educator + Entrepreneur

    Ashley Lamb-Sinclair is the Founder & CEO of Curio Learning and the 2016 Kentucky Teacher of the Year. Prior to being honored as Kentucky Teacher of the Year, Ashley was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Thailand and Vietnam and an English Speaking Union Scholarship to study creative writing at Exeter College at the University of Oxford. She is a contributing writer to the Atlantic and the Washington Post, among other publications, and taught middle & high school English and creative writing as a National Board Certified Teacher for fourteen years. Ashley also founded a program called School Startup for local educators to support them as they strive for more innovative and creative classrooms.

     

    Ashley's greatest memories from her experiences in the classroom were from leading young people into their passions, so she created Camp Wayfarer as an extension of her love for guiding teenagers to reach their greatest potential.

    Who is a good fit for Camp Wayfarer?

    Teens ages 13-17 who want experiences with lots of different people, professions, and personal reflection in order to better understand themselves.

    Where is camp drop off and pick up each day?

    Drop off and pick up will be located at Forest Giant at 2858 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206.

    When does camp begin and end?

    Camp will begin on July 22nd and end on July 26th. Each day, drop off will be at 10:30 am. Pick up will be at 3:00 pm. Late fees of $20 per day will apply after 15 minutes beyond drop off and pick up time.

    What exactly happens each day at Camp Wayfarer?

    Each day we'll start with personal exploration & discussion using various tools & processes. Then we'll walk to a different destination on Frankfort Ave. each day to learn about the journeys of various people & career paths. We'll enjoy a sack lunch, journaling, discussion, and workshop reflection time at the end of each day. At the end of the week, we'll share everything we've learned with parents and enjoy a panel discussion with community experts on passion & career exploration.

    What should I bring?

    Please bring a sack lunch, water bottle, sunscreen (for walking), comfortable shoes & clothes, plus optional spending money for

    coffee shops, etc. Also, when rain is predicted, please bring an umbrella and raincoat.

    What is the cost?  

    Registration costs $250 per camper for the full week of camp activities. If you're ready to join us, please complete the enrollment form and pay for registration after enrolling.
